Types of Glazes
- We have two different types of glazes: low fire and high fire.
High fire glazes fire to approximately 2,200 degrees F
Note: Because low and high fire glazes are fired at different temperatures, you can not use them both on the same project. You need to choose between low and high fire.

You'll find the low fire glazes in small containers either pint sized or smaller. These glazes will need to be brushed onto your clay project with a paint brush. 2-3 thin even coats is recommended.

Ways to apply glaze/embellish:
Paint on glazes with a brush:

Pour glazes:
- using a ladle, cup or container, pour glaze onto project (over bucket).
Layering glazes:
- Layering multiple colors can produce unpredictable but interesting results.
- Let initial layer dry before adding another layer.
Apply glaze with a sponge:
Sgraffito as a decoration method:
Wax resist:
Glass:
- Glass will run to the lowest points on the platter.
- Glass will melt and then crackle when cooled.
Platter Glazing Grading:
1-4 scale rating. 20 possible points.
Rate yourselves 1-4 then times by 5 for a possible total points of 20.
